As I write this it is raining here in West County Sonoma. Rain, water, is always a good thing in our part of the world, except during harvest month. And yes, we are right in the middle of harvesting grapes for the next great vintage!

This upcoming Saturday the 24th is our annual Graton Day!. Held this year on Bowen Street, festivities will begin with a parade (including one for pets) at 3 p.m., then live music, food, vendors, a raffle, kids’ activities, a pie contest, and more.

Serious gardeners flock to western Sonoma County’s nurseries and gardens in summer, as do people afflicted with brown thumbs who just enjoy ogling. And no where is better then the Hallberg Butterfly Gardens right down the street from my real estate office here in Graton!

The Pacific Coast Air Museum is hosting the “Wings over Wine Country” air show this weekend, August 20 & 21st. This is a rare opportunity to get a close-up look at, and sit in the cockpit of some really historic aircraft.

This coming week-end is our annual Gravenstein Apple Fair! Known as the “Sweetest Little Fair in Sonoma County” and sponsored by Sonoma County Farm Trails it will be held on Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th beginning at 10AM at Ragel Ranch Park.
